The Tiananmen National Flag Guard refers to the Chinese People's Liberation Army team that is engaged in raising and lowering the national flag and guarding the flag-raising platform on Tiananmen Square. It belongs to the honor guard of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Its predecessor was the Tiananmen National Flag Team of the Armed Police, known as the "Flag Guard". It took over from the garrison troops of the Chinese People's Liberation Army on December 28, 1982, and officially assumed the task of raising and lowering the national flag and guarding the national flag post on Tiananmen Square, and it was raised on the first day of each month.
